General
- Experience (usually shorten to XP or EXP) is necessary for the development of your character. Without experience you can not make new levels and thus enhance skills, stats, wear better items, etc.
- You can get EXP in several ways. By killing monsters, completing quests or open certain boxes.
- For each level the EXP requirement is different, but you always have to fill the experience balls in the bottom left of your screen (see picture to the right)
- When you fill the 1st, 2nd and 3rd ball you will be able to add 1 status point to your character.
- When you fill the 4th ball you will proceed to the next level and receive 1 skill point. These can be used to upgrade your skills.
- The absolute amount of EXP made, and the amount left to the next level can also be seen on your Status window, accessible by pressing the "C" key or by pressing the status button

(Champion) Levels
- The maximum level you can reach is 120. After that, you can promote to champion level (commonly shortened to CL) if you fulfill the conditions:

- You have completed the Ship Defence run once OR used the

Hydran Ring.

- Every 25% of champion EXP gives you one point to distribute among the Sung Ma's will status points.
Other information

- When you die in regular maps by monsters, you have a chance of loosing regular EXP, this is equal to ???. Dieing by other players will never result in loosing EXP.

- When you revive yourself, you will notice the text 'You did not lose any Experience because of the Blessing of the Dragon God' , which indicates whether you lost EXP or not.
- You can decrease the chance of loosing EXP by wearing the item

Goddess Tear. - You can guarantee to keep your EXP by using the item

Medal of the Dragon or
Medal of the Dragon B. When you were destined to loose EXP, the effect of this medal is gone and you have to use a new medal to keep the effect. - The

Medal of the Dragon+ can be used to keep the effect until the time runs out. - Clicking on the 'Revive in the city' after death always guarantees on keeping your EXP.
- If you want to get rid of excessive EXP, you can donate it to a Guild (up to guild level 20). This only affects the regular EXP.
- If you want to stop accumulating EXP, you can use the item

Relative EXP
- Depending on your level and the level of your opponent, you get a certain percentage of EXP. If your level is lower, you get a few percent extra EXP. In contrast, if the opponent has a lower level, you get less EXP.
- The base value of possible EXP gain from monsters can be found in the Monsters List. The base is the number of EXP that you get if you have the same level as the opponent without any EXP boost.
- The maximum of EXP gain can be as much as 20% of your total required EXP. Even if a level 10 character manages to defeat a level 100 opponent, it won't gain more than 20% EXP.
- You will always receive EXP from monsters regardless of level difference. It will take a while to see it if you have a level far higher than the opponent because the system rounds it up.
