Experience
Contents
General
- Experience (usually shorten to XP or EXP) is necessary for the development of your character. Without experience you can not make new levels and thus enhance skills, stats, wear better items, etc.
- You can get EXP in several ways. By killing monsters, completing quests or open certain boxes.
- For each level the EXP requirement is different, but you always have to fill the experience balls in the bottom left of your screen (see picture to the right)
- When you fill the 1st, 2nd and 3rd ball you will be able to add 1 status point to your character.
- When you fill the 4th ball you will proceed to the next level and receive 1 skill point. These can be used to upgrade your skills.
- The absolute amount of EXP made, and the amount left to the next level can also be seen on your Status window, accessible by pressing the "C" key or by pressing the status button

(Champion) Levels
- The maximum level you can reach is 120. After that, you can promote to champion level (commonly shortened to CL) if you fulfill the conditions:
- Maximum EXP while you are level 120 (25%)
- You have completed the Ship Defence run once OR used the

Hydran Ring.
- You can promote by talking with located in Harbour.
- With champion level you are able to access dungeons within the Yohara continent.
- Unlike regular levels, there are some other visual changes when attaining champion EXP:
- While regular EXP marks as yellow, everything related to champion EXP is blue instead (see picture to the right)
- Every 25% of champion EXP gives you one point to distribute among the Sung Ma's will status points.
Other information
- You require 20.000 EXP points by reading books.
- When you die in regular maps by monsters, you have a chance of loosing regular EXP, this is equal to ???. Dieing by other players will never result in loosing EXP.
- When you die in Yohara maps by monsters, you have a chance of loosing champion EXP, this is equal to 1% of your total champion EXP required to the next level
- When you revive yourself, you will notice the text 'You did not lose any Experience because of the Blessing of the Dragon God' , which indicates whether you lost EXP or not.
- You can decrease the chance of loosing EXP by wearing the item

Goddess Tear. - You can guarantee to keep your EXP by using the item

Medal of the Dragon or
Medal of the Dragon B. When you were destined to loose EXP, the effect of this medal is gone and you have to use a new medal to keep the effect. - The

Medal of the Dragon+ can be used to keep the effect until the time runs out. - Clicking on the 'Revive in the city' after death always guarantees on keeping your EXP.
- If you want to get rid of excessive EXP, you can donate it to a Guild (up to guild level 20). This only affects the regular EXP.
- If you want to stop accumulating EXP, you can use the item

Ring of Secrets. - When you are accompanied by Pets, this does not affect the EXP gain.

Relative EXP
- Depending on your level and the level of your opponent, you get a certain percentage of EXP. If your level is lower, you get a few percent extra EXP. In contrast, if the opponent has a lower level, you get less EXP.
- The base value of possible EXP gain from monsters can be found in the Monsters List. The base is the number of EXP that you get if you have the same level as the opponent without any EXP boost.
- The maximum of EXP gain can be as much as 20% of your total required EXP. Even if a level 10 character manages to defeat a level 100 opponent, it won't gain more than 20% EXP.
- You will always receive EXP from monsters regardless of level difference. It will take a while to see it if you have a level far higher than the opponent because the system rounds it up.

Group
- It is possible to form a group up with 8 players. You can invite each other by clicking on the player name. The only restriction is that all players who wish to join the group should not be 30 levels apart from the group leader.
- Once you are in a group, you can communicate with each other in the chatbar, by either pressing the 'normal' button to 'group' or write # at the start of the sentence.
- You can hover your mouse on the group members in the top left corner to see where they are, and when opening the large map, you can see their live location as a blue square.
- Should the groupleader have Leadership skills, they can assign other groupmembers bonuses. See more on that page.
- The groupleader can remove members the same way.
- You can leave or disband the group by clicking on the down-arrow and press the leave button.
- You can block group invites by opening the
Community tab (ALT + M), click on options and select the block group invites to ON, alternatively you can check the box that applies to friends, guild members and/or spouses aswell - You can also block invites from players who want to join the group aswell, select the block requests to join instead.
- While in a group, the groupleader can select the EXP distribution: Even or Level Dependant.
- Even distribution shares the collected EXP evenly to all members; everyone regardless of character level receives the same amount of EXP points. If one player uses items to increase their EXP, only that player receives the extra EXP.
- Level distribution works different. Here is the calculation as well as an example:
Formula: Character level / (Number of all character levels counted together / 100)
Example: Group with player levels 38, 49 and 76 Total levels = 38 + 49 + 76 = 163 EXP Level 38 = 38 / 1,63 = 23,31% of monster's EXP EXP Level 49 = 49 / 1,63 = 30,06% of monster's EXP EXP Level 76 = 76 / 1,63 = 46,63% of monster's EXP
- The more members in a group, the more bonus EXP it gets. This value is added on top of the monster's base EXP. You can view the current bonus EXP under your name in the group.
| Members | Bonus EXP |
|---|---|
| 2 | 12% |
| 3 | 18% |
| 4 | 26% |
| 5 | 40% |
| 6 | 53% |
| 7 | 70% |
| 8 | 100% |
- The groupleader can use items to increase bonus EXP for the entire group:

Book of the Leader or
Book of the Leader B increases EXP with 30%
Book of the Leader+ or
Book of the Leader+ B increases EXP with 100%
- These items cannot be used at the same time.
- The maximum bonus EXP can therefore be no more than 200%
- If you stay in the group for about 30 minutes, and there are at least 2 members online, you will notice the following message:
- Your group works well together, and group members near the group leader will receive an experience bonus.
- This means that the bonus EXP is further increased by about 5%. This is not visible by the icon though.
- Even if one disconnects or changes map, the effect remains until the group is disbanded.
Examples of EXP calculations while in group
- I am level 50 and have one groupmate level 20. None of us wear EXP boost items. We fight the monster Soldier Poison Spider
- We know the base EXP of this monster: 10.416
- Since both of us are 15 levels or higher than the monster, we receive an additional 30% EXP above the base EXP like we said in relative EXP. This means the new value is 13.540
- Worth to mention: it doesn't matter who kills the monster. The EXP is divided equally
- Even distribution
- Since the group consists of 2 members, we receive a bonus of 12% on top of the monster's base EXP: 15.164
- We set the distribution to Even, this means the EXP is divided by the amount of players, in this case 2:
- 15.164 / 2 = 7582 EXP points for each member
- What if we add a third member, let's say level 35?
- The group then consists of 3 members, meaning we receive a bonus of 18% on top of the monster's base EXP: 17.893
- Since the distribution is set to Even, it doesn't matter who comes in or whatever level he is, everyone receives the same EXP points.
- 17.893 / 3 = 5964 EXP points for each member
- What if the groupleader uses a Book of the Leader?
- The group still consists of 3 members, but since the Book of the Leader gives 30% more EXP, we receive 48% instead of 18% on top of the monster's base EXP: 22.442
- 22.442 / 3 = 7480 EXP points for each member
- What if the we remove the player level 35 and add a new player level 68 instead?
- The amount of EXP gained by player level 20 and 50 remains equal no matter who joins (as long as it is 1 member), but for player level 68 it is different. This is because his level is equal to that of the monster in this example. This means the relative EXP is unchanged.
- For player level 68 counts the base EXP of the monster: previously said to be 10.416
- Since the party consists of 3 members, the bonus EXP is 18%: 12.290
- 12.290 / 3 = 4096 EXP points for player level 68. Player level 20 and 50 remain unchanged because noone else joined the group and their levels are 15 or more apart from the monster. This calculation was done without the use of Book of the Leader
- Level distribution
- We go back to the base state: 2 players in a group whom one is level 20 and the other level 50. We are both still 15 levels or higher than the monster, that still means the relative EXP is +30%. We are still with 2 members in a group, that still means the bonus EXP is 12%. So we still have 15.164 EXP points to divide. The calculation goes as follows:
- We count up the levels of the characters: 20 + 50 = 70. We devide that by 100 = 0,7
- We divide the player level by 0,7:
- Player level 20 / 0,7 = 28,57% of the total EXP points to be divided = 4332 EXP points for player level 20
- Player level 50 / 0,7 = 71,42% of the total EXP points to be divided = 10.830 EXP points for player level 50
- Even if one character is fully equipped with EXP items, only that player is receiving the extra EXP equal to the amount of percent of the original EXP. Group members will not receive extra EXP because the killer uses EXP items.
- It doesn't matter who kills the monster, everyone will receive the same EXP regardless who kills within the group.
Group search
- You can let a system automatically create a group for you for certain dungeons. Open the menu by pressing SHIFT + J or the central button between your skill bars the button

- You must be outside of any dungeon and have reached the level requirement. If a dungeon needs an item to enter, you must have it in your inventory aswell.
- Once you have selected the dungeon and fulfill the conditions, you will be in a queue. The status can be seen under your Mini Map (see picture right).
- From there you can also cancel your search.
- The group will be searched within a range of 30 levels.
- Once there are 8 players available the group will be created, the groupleader will be chosen by following the steps:
- Highest level of Leadership skill;
- Highest player level;
- Longest in queue
